Job Description (day-to-day/responsibilities)

• Supports the entirety of the field organization — all foremen and field workers (40–60 crew, target of 60)
• Self-performs everything; owns full understanding of project scope
• On jobsites daily troubleshooting and solving problems alongside the crew
• Heavy emphasis on field training and development of workers
• Owns jobsite safety
• Handles all hiring and firing for field staff
• Owns all project scheduling — determining where crews need to be and allocating accordingly
• Works 50/50 alongside the Project Manager for budget and scheduling: PM manages budget/schedule on paper, Superintendent reports real-time from the field and is the first point of contact to solve problems together
• Split is roughly 80% field / 20% office — never remote
• Expected to visit each active job site about once a week
• Hours extend beyond 8–5; typically first on-site, ~50 hour work weeks, with weekend work when rain delays push the schedule
