Must haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business from a strong school
• 2+ years of accounting experience, early career (ideally out of Big 4 or regional public accounting)
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and journal entries
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Strong work ethic and interest in a fast-paced, growing company
• Has researched the company and can speak to interest
• Comfortable using AI in their work
• Open to learning insurance accounting

Pluses:

• CPA or planning to pursue CPA
• Big 4 or regional public accounting background

Day to day:

This role focuses on core accounting responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. You will support the monthly close process through preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining accuracy of the general ledger. The position also involves assisting with financial reporting, including preparing financial statements under GAAP and supporting additional reporting frameworks such as STAT. Responsibilities include handling reinsurance settlements, fixed asset accounting, internal control activities, and contributing to the analysis of financial results and key business drivers. The role requires someone who takes ownership, asks questions, and can operate effectively in a growing environment, with opportunities to get involved in technical accounting projects and drive their own development.
