MUST:
- 4+ years as a backend developer, specifically with java – EXPERT LEVEL HARD CORE JAVA DEVELOPMENT, should be doing java all day every day
- Bachelors in computer science

- Experience building systems that handle high throughput and low latency in production environments (10k+ msgs/sec, low-millisecond latencies).
- Strong Java proficiency, including solid understanding of concurrency, memory management, JVM behavior, and performance optimization.
- Has been a senior/lead or principal developer (eventually will mentor backend devs) and comfortable with being the main backend developer currently on the team (ability to understand architecture while being a strong developer)/ Aspirations to grow into a director role
- Expert in Java development (back end)
- Understands multi threading

- Either comes from a small team within a large company, or comes from a small start up

- FIX experience
- Experience with derivative contracts (futures, options) and financial markets is highly desirable.
- strong experience developing Rest API’s
- must understand how Kubernetes or containerized applications work (microservices)
- Extensive experience in relational databases (Postgres)-
