Safety Manager

Position Overview

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading all jobsite safety efforts across assigned projects, with a focus on proactive planning, hazard prevention, regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture. This role partners closely with project teams, subcontractors, and field leadership to ensure safe project execution and support the company's goal of zero incidents.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction safety experience, preferably supporting commercial or data center projects.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (preferred).
  • BCSP certification required (CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, SMS, or STS-C).
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications required.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation, hazard identification, incident investigations, and safety compliance.
  • Experience with Procore or other safety management/reporting software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of fall protection, excavation, confined space, scaffolding, cranes, rigging, LOTO, HAZWOPER, respirator programs, lift equipment, electrical safety, and other construction safety standards.
  • Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans in partnership with project teams.
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with safety requirements and submit all required documentation before mobilization.
  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments, ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses while coordinating OSHA inspections and regulatory compliance.
  • Track safety performance, analyze trends, prepare reports, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, including pre-task plans, JHAs, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Mentor and support Site Safety Coordinators while providing guidance to project teams on safe work practices.
  • Promote a proactive, company-wide culture of safety and continuous improvement.
