Safety Coordinator
Overview
Seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the implementation of project-specific Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs on commercial construction projects. This role works closely with project teams, craft personnel, and subcontractors to maintain a safe, compliant jobsite through field support, inspections, training, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of the project-specific Safety Plan and EH&S program.
- Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
- Assist with new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
- Review subcontractor safety documentation and Site-Specific Safety Plans.
- Support pre-task planning and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Investigate incidents, document findings, and assist with corrective actions.
- Maintain OSHA compliance and project safety records.
- Partner with field teams to identify hazards and promote a proactive safety culture.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction safety experience preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
- Experience supporting high-risk activities including fall protection, excavation, confined space, cranes, scaffolding, and electrical safety.
- OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid required; STSC, CHST, ASP, or other BCSP certifications are a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and computer skills, with experience using safety management software preferred.
