Project Engineer
Position Overview
The Project Engineer supports project planning, coordination, and execution by providing technical, administrative, and organizational assistance to the project team. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and documentation requirements while supporting day-to-day field and office operations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Administration & Documentation
- Manage site administration tasks including subcontractor submittals, requests for information (RFIs), meeting minutes, permit tracking, and related documentation.
- Track, organize, and maintain all project documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
- Review and understand project plans and specifications to support coordination and compliance.
- Maintain and update project drawing sets in both electronic and hard-copy formats.
Quality Control & Sustainability
- Assist with quality control documentation, inspections, and testing activities, including building envelope documentation and performance testing.
- Monitor project sustainability requirements by maintaining logs, documentation, and reviewing materials for compliance with project standards and certifications.
Project Closeout & Support
- Support and manage the project closeout process, including punch list tracking, owner training materials, attic stock procurement and tracking, and review of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranty documentation.
- Assist with general project coordination tasks and perform additional duties as assigned.
Safety
- Participate in jobsite safety meetings and assist field personnel in identifying and resolving potential hazards.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Exposure to estimating and preconstruction processes preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Bluebeam Revu, and Procore
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 0–3 years of experience in construction project engineering or related roles
- Construction field experience is a plus
- OSHA 10-Hour and First Aid certifications preferred
