MUST:
- 4-5 years recent of accounting experience within insurance industry
- Strong experience within the insurance industry
- experience reporting to reinsurance counterparties & external carriers
- Awesome communication + great with start up
- Experience with reinsurance entries & settlements AND reinsurance reconciliations
- Strong with accounting operations
- Great at data analysis, great at reconciling
- Experience/knowledge of MGA entity or TPA entity process and administer policies on behalf of a carrier
- Titles this person could have: accounting reporting manager, external reporting manager, strong senior stepping into manager,
- Experience/understanding of posting journals as it relates to reinsurance
- Strong experience with reporting to the external carriers (not financial statements reporting as an FYI)

Our start up life insurance client is seeking a Manager of External Reporting to join their team as a full time employee. This is an exciting role, because this client has built our own internal technology in house, and big insurance names want to use that technology, which has sparked a need for this role. The Accounting & Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing financial reporting support provided to insurance carrier partners, ensuring they receive timely, accurate, and complete accounting information for their financial records. This position plays a key role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing reporting processes and deliverables while serving as a trusted resource for carrier finance teams and external auditors. Reporting directly to the Controller, the role is best suited for an experienced accounting professional with a solid background in the insurance industry who can work independently as a senior-level individual contributor. Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and strong technical accounting expertise are essential for success in this position.
