Director Finance, Business Model & Commercialization

The Director of Business Model & Commercialization sits at the intersection of product strategy, commercialization, and Finance. Reporting to the CFO & VP of Software, this role partners closely with Product, Finance, Sales, and Operations to shape how Byte’s SaaS products are priced, scaled, and monetized.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in SaaS commercialization or FP&A who enjoy translating strategy into executable plans, owning product economics, and driving performance through data and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

Product Commercialization 

  • Partner with Product teams to define and commercialize short- and long-term product opportunities across the SaaS platform.
  • Translate product strategy and roadmaps into clear financial plans, including investment requirements, ROI, and success metrics to ensure plans are executed and corrective actions identified to achieve outcome
  • Build, own, and actively manage product-level P&Ls, including targets for revenue, cost, and profitability on the path to breakeven driving insights & actions
  • Maintain a strong understanding of SaaS cost structures and cost drivers to improve productivity, margin, and scalability.

 

Pricing & Revenue Management

  • Standardize pricing models while allowing for thoughtful experimentation (e.g., tiers, usage-based pricing, bundles, incentives).
  • Own short- and long-term revenue planning by product, including forecasts, targets, and scenario analysis towards breakeven.
  • Partner with Finance/Controllership on invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with revenue plans.
  • Develop business cases for customer-specific pricing and incentives, balancing growth objectives with profitability.

 

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage and develop a team of 2 direct reports, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management.
  • Build repeatable processes, tools, and governance for commercialization, pricing, and product P&L management.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CFO / VP and senior leadership on growth strategy and financial performance.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in SaaS commercialization with product P&L management, or corporate strategy.
  • Preference for candidates with hands-on experience in a SaaS or technology environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing product-level financial models and P&Ls.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, churn, gross margin, operating leverage).
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
