Position Overview

The Design Engineer II is a mid-level engineering role focused on the design and documentation of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC control systems. This position works closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers to develop control system layouts, support estimates, and assist with projects from pre-construction through execution.

This role is ideal for someone with strong AutoCAD experience and exposure to HVAC, mechanical building systems, or building automation who is looking to grow within the controls and BAS space.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and modify building automation and HVAC control systems using AutoCAD
  • Develop control system layouts, wiring diagrams, and submittal packages
  • Review and interpret construction blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Support Project Managers with estimate validation and design documentation
  • Collaborate with project engineers and field teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with graphics development and system documentation (training provided)
  • Maintain accurate project documentation using Microsoft Office tools

Compensation & Growth

  • Target salary range: $90,000 – $120,000, depending on experience
