JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Order Desk
- Create a positive and consistent customer service experience.
- Accurately capture all information (required or additional) pertaining to a complete order.
- Strong communication with the customer in the event of back orders. This includes tracking orders through its entirety.
- Determine if additional items can be added to the order based on the current order contents.
- Effective communication and hand-off to the Purchasing team for action needed from them.
- Work directly with the Warehouse members, setting daily and weekly delivery calendar and identifying inventory discrepancies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through appropriate channels in the operation.
- Familiarize yourself with item numbers and codes by gaining a thorough understanding of warehouse inventory, including the purpose and application of each item.
- Establish formal and informal communications with other team members and keeping Management aware of potential challenges with customer orders (shortages, missed delivery etc).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical school certificate or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Great working knowledge of tools and equipment used in the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of building materials, and consumables.
- Demonstrate a self-starter attitude and strong self-motivation; take initiative to seek out answers independently when information is not readily available.
- Able to work with very minimal supervision.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications – Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record based upon company policy.
- Strong communication skills electronically, by phone and in-person.
