We’re looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our team supporting transmission line, substation, and substation foundation projects across the Midwest and beyond. This is a hands-on field position for a skilled carpenter with experience in utility construction, heavy civil, concrete forming, foundations, or related infrastructure work.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform carpentry and concrete-forming work on transmission, substation, and foundation projects
- Build, install, and remove concrete forms, footings, foundations, walls, and structural components
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, layouts, and project specifications
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install lumber, plywood, hardware, and other forming materials
- Assist with layout and elevation of foundations and other structural components
- Work with crews on drilled piers, anchor bolt cages, rebar, concrete placement, and foundation installation
- Set and secure forms to ensure proper dimensions, alignment, and grade
- Assist with concrete pours, finishing, stripping, and cleanup
- Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively
- Inspect completed work and identify issues before concrete placement
- Coordinate with foremen, superintendents, laborers, operators, and other trades to keep projects moving
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company, OSHA, utility, and project-specific safety requirements
- Travel to various project locations as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of commercial, industrial, heavy civil, utility, or concrete carpentry experience
- Strong experience with concrete forming, foundations, footings, framing, or structural carpentry
- Experience working on utility, transmission, substation, or heavy civil projects is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and foundation plans
- Experience with layout, elevations, measurements, and grade
- Familiarity with rebar, anchor bolts, concrete placement, and drilled pier construction
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Strong understanding of construction safety and jobsite procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a construction crew
- Willingness to travel extensively
Travel:
Candidates can be based anywhere in the Midwest, South, East, or Central U.S. and must be willing to travel to project sites as needed.
