Day-to-Day

• Own the payments domain’s architecture, technical roadmap, boundaries, models, and service responsibilities.
• Architect payment workflows across order creation, edits, cancellations, finalization, and refunds.
• Design durable Temporal workflows and Kafka event streams that support recoverable, idempotent payment processing.
• Build multi-tender orchestration across credit/debit, EBT SNAP/WIC, digital wallets, and marketplace payments.
• Design processor integrations for authorization, capture, voids, refunds, and reversals; handle timeouts and unknown outcomes without duplicate charges.
• Define API/event contracts, schema governance, workflow versioning, retries, and dead-letter handling.
• Establish PCI-compliant security standards covering tokenization, encryption, key rotation, and scope reduction.
• Partner with Finance and adjacent domains to ensure accurate reconciliation, reporting, and general ledger feeds.
• Define payment reliability metrics, observability, and testing strategies across HTTP, Kafka, and Temporal.
• Prototype solutions, write reference implementations, review production code, and mentor senior engineers.
• Produce architecture review documentation and decision records; lead feature-flagged migrations and use AI coding agents to support delivery.
