DAY TO DAY:
This consultant will support the Finance Transformation organization for a media and entertainment client. This person will execute Finance-led systems transformation initiatives.
Initial projects will focus on revenue recognition and indirect tax automation, with broader Finance process and systems improvements as needed.
- Meet with Finance/Accounting/Tax process owners to understand current workflows, business problems, and automation requirements.
- Translate Finance business needs into clear, actionable requirements for Technology and Engineering teams.
- Partner with engineering stakeholders to ensure proposed system functionality meets Finance's operational and compliance needs.
- Drive cross-functional project execution through the software development lifecycle, including Agile/Scrum ceremonies and two-week sprint cycles.
- Coordinate deliverables, track milestones and dependencies, identify blockers, and hold technology partners accountable.
- Support current-state assessments, future-state process design, systems implementation, testing, and adoption.
- Work closely with Roger, who will provide overall initiative leadership.
- Serve as the Finance-side bridge to Technology, rather than as a software engineer or purely technical IT project manager.
Ideal candidate profile: Someone who started their career owning or managing Finance/Accounting processes, experienced firsthand the operational challenges, and subsequently moved into Finance Transformation or Finance Systems Implementation. They can communicate credibly with Finance leaders, translate business needs into requirements Engineering can execute, and help drive delivery in an Agile environment.
