Senior HVAC Technician

Location: Charleston, SC 29407

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems. This role is focused on performing repairs and replacements in-house to improve system reliability and reduce outside HVAC maintenance costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems
• Work extensively with chillers and Building Management/Automation Systems (BMS/BAS)
• Maintain AHUs, RTUs, boilers, cooling towers, VRF/VAV systems, heat pumps, and controls
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control issues
• Recommend repairs, replacements, and system improvements
• Read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation in CMMS
• Coordinate with facility teams, vendors, and contractors as needed
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and site safety requirements

Required Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience
• EPA Universal Certification
• HVAC technician certification or equivalent technical training
• Strong chiller and BMS/BAS troubleshooting experience
• Advanced HVAC diagnostic and repair capabilities
• Strong electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical knowledge
• Ability to independently perform major HVAC repairs and component replacements
• Ability to read schematics and technical documentation
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work on ladders, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions

Preferred

• BAS experience with Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Trane, or similar
• OSHA 10/30
• Manufacturer certifications such as Trane, Carrier, Daikin, or York
• Experience in industrial, healthcare, data center, or mission-critical facilities
