Day to Day: My client is hiring for Sr Azure Cloud DevOps Engineers to work remotely and must be ok to work EST or CST Hours (need to be able to join standup at 9:30 am ET). This team is within the Digital/Ecommerce line of business for the client. They will support both website and mobile app projects focused on delivery. You will work with multiple agile teams and support many different platforms and tech stacks. We are seeking an Azure Cloud DevOps Engineer to help accelerate our DevOps capabilities and support multiple agile teams in delivering high-quality features and services. This role is hands-on and focused on release engineering, migrating our pipelines from Azure DevOps to GitHub, improving CI/CD, and enhancing resiliency across a multi-cloud environment. You will support teams with very different stacks, from containerized services on Kubernetes to Azure function apps, so comfort switching context matters as much as depth in any one area. Many of the current team will support the new Kubernetes work, and new hires will support legacy as they get up and running and then can start supporting the migration. This is a long-term multi-year contract opportunity.

  • Own release engineering across multiple teams: plan, coordinate and execute deployments that span cross-team dependencies and shared release trains.
  • Migrate pipelines and repos from Azure DevOps to GitHub, and build the templates and patterns that make the migration repeatable for other teams.
  • Run infrastructure, .NET and Maven deployments, and support the teams that own them.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines leveraging GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps for secure, scalable, and repeatable delivery patterns.
  • Support Azure PaaS workloads end to end, including function apps and their networking, identity and Key Vault configuration.
  • Implement GitOps practices using Argo CD and Kubernetes for deployment automation (Canary, Blue/Green strategies).
  • Design and implement automation that improves developer experience, accelerates delivery, and increases platform resiliency.
  • Develop scripts and tooling (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate repetitive tasks and optimize workflows.
  • Create templates and automation to enable developer self-service for repos, pipelines, and containers.
  • Support agile teams with repo and pipeline setups and partner with teams to ensure successful deployments to production.
  • Troubleshoot build and deployment issues across development teams and provide hands-on support.
  • Collaborate with platform and architecture teams on multi-cloud strategies (Azure and GCP).
  • Implement additional capabilities within RedHat OpenShift to improve utilization of K8S (e.g., Advanced Cluster Management, Custom Metrics Autoscaler).
  • Support critical release activities and ensure smooth, reliable deployments; willing to support releases up to 2 to 3 nights per week.
  • Contribute to documentation and guardrails that improve efficiency, security, and reliability.
