REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High Agency: You take ownership of problems end-to-end, make decisions with incomplete information, and don't wait to be told what to do.
- Military Experience: Prior service, ideally with the U.S. Army, or extensive hands-on experience working alongside military units. You understand military culture, structure, and how operators think.
- CLI Fluency: You live in the terminal — comfortable with shell scripting, remote access, and troubleshooting Linux systems without a GUI.
- Docker: Practical, hands-on experience building, running, and debugging containerized applications.
- Logging: Strong ability to read logs across the stack (application, container, system) to quickly find and fix problems.
- Customer-Facing Comfort: You're energized, not drained, by sitting across the table from a customer, presenting to a room, or being the only engineer on-site when something breaks.
- Willingness to Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including to austere or remote environments, on relatively short notice.
- Clearance & Citizenship: Required due to CUI and ITAR data handling. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Full-Stack Experience: Full-stack development experience, including production React work, in addition to backend engineering.
- Military/Army Experience: Prior active-duty or reserve service in the U.S. Army, with firsthand experience operating within military units and mission environments.
- Constrained Environments: Experience configuring or troubleshooting systems in classified, air-gapped, or otherwise constrained network environments.
- Active Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Early-Stage Experience: Comfort operating with significant autonomy, minimal process, and evolving priorities in a startup building from the ground up.
- Curiosity and the Desire to Learn and Improve: To be successful in this role you much have an innate desire to understand how the military operates and how we might help our customers improve. You will be handed more problems than solutions and are expected to be excited to uncover why things work the way they do and constantly look for ways that they may be done better.
