DAY TO DAY:

The Business Analyst supports the automation and improvement of revenue and sales operations processes within Salesforce. They work primarily with Salesforce, Excel, Power Query, and SQL to automate reporting and reduce manual data entry related to ARR, MRR, bookings, backlog, and activations. The analyst reviews Salesforce opportunities, orders, quotes, and contracts to identify missing or inaccurate information. They research PDF quotes, purchase orders, and other source documents to connect the right records and ensure revenue data is accurately mapped and reported.

They build and maintain Power Query automations that pull data from Salesforce and other financial systems into Excel and use SQL to analyze business data and identify gaps or inconsistencies. They continuously look for opportunities to replace manual processes with scalable, repeatable solutions. The analyst works closely with Finance, FP&A, Revenue Operations, and Sales Operations to understand business processes, resolve data issues, and improve reporting. They apply an understanding of recurring revenue, subscription contracts, renewals, and commercial terms to ensure reporting accurately reflects the business.

Essentially, this role is to backfill manual processes in salesforce to start. Our client has a backlog of ARR and MRR reporting and needs to build out automation and populate it within salesforce. They will need help fixing errors of current automation as well, for example if the current automation is currently spitting out a table of everything that needs manual mapping. Currently, this group has to look up those opportunities manually to find order and quote and pull those fields off of the quote. Need someone to help automate these kind of tasks.
