OEE Systems Integration Engineer

The Manufacturing OEE Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and sustaining Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) systems across manufacturing operations. This role bridges manufacturing engineering, controls/automation, IT/OT, and operations to enable real-time performance visibility, accurate downtime classification, and data-driven continuous improvement.

The engineer will work closely with production, maintenance, controls, IT, and leadership teams to integrate machine data, configure OEE metrics, and ensure adoption of the system to improve availability, performance, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation and deployment of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) systems, from requirements gathering through production rollout.
  • Configure and maintain OEE software platforms, including data models, dashboards, KPIs, reporting tools, and performance metrics.
  • Design and implement machine connectivity architectures utilizing PLCs, sensors, edge devices, SCADA systems, and historians to capture accurate production and downtime data.
  • Establish and standardize OEE calculations, logic, and reporting methodologies across manufacturing lines and facilities.
  • Manage the installation, commissioning, and validation of automation systems, ensuring compliance with operational requirements, CGMP standards, and intended system functionality.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and Ignition SCADA systems to support manufacturing operations.
  • Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to Automation Technicians, assisting with complex troubleshooting and automation challenges.
  • Partner with production supervisors and managers to identify opportunities to improve equipment throughput, reliability, flexibility, safety, quality, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Plan, execute, and manage automation and controls engineering projects with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, process control systems, and automation infrastructure while supporting change control activities.
  • Design, develop, and implement modifications to manufacturing equipment and automation systems to enhance productivity, performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance data and drive continuous improvement initiatives through automation, controls optimization, and OEE-based decision-making.
