Figma Design Specialist

Must-Haves

  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including deep understanding of files, shared libraries, components, variants, and publishing workflows
  • Hands-on experience building, managing, or restructuring large-scale Figma design systems and shared libraries
  • Strong knowledge of design token architecture, including mapping tokens to variables, styles, and component-level usage
  • Proven experience using Figma’s Swap Library feature in a real-world migration or restructuring scenario
  • Ability to audit complex Figma environments and identify dependencies across libraries, components, and files
  • High attention to detail with the ability to execute precise, high-volume updates without introducing downstream issues
  • Self-sufficient operator — able to take minimal direction, assess needs, and execute independently

Plusses

  • Experience with Token Studio (setup, configuration, and multi-brand token management)
  • Exposure to Figma Enterprise environments (org structure, permissions, library sharing, admin workflows)
  • Prior involvement in design system migrations, brand splits, or Figma org transitions
  • Familiarity with multi-brand design systems and how shared foundations are adapted across brands
  • Experience with Figma plugins for bulk updates, token management, or library optimization
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions and findings to design leadership

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Audit existing Figma workspace to map library dependencies, component relationships, and token connections across all files
  • Lead restructuring of foundational design libraries into brand-specific systems, ensuring naming consistency and integrity
  • Execute library migration using Swap Library, including manual resolution of unmatched or broken components
  • Validate and QA all libraries (Patterns, Recipes, Templates) to ensure proper publishing and downstream propagation
  • Set up and configure Token Studio in the new environment and reconnect all token structures (color, typography, spacing, etc.)
  • Identify and resolve broken or mismatched token references across migrated assets
  • Run an early proof of concept migration, document findings, and refine migration approach
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and admins to coordinate enterprise account transition and team migration
  • Sequence migration activities to minimize disruption to active design work
  • Perform full QA of the migrated environment, ensuring no broken references, missing libraries, or disconnected tokens
  • Document decisions, gaps, and system changes for long-term maintainability
