Product Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-impact Senior Product Manager to drive innovation and growth across our stationery, novelty, and licensing categories. This individual will play a key role in evolving the business from a reactive product organization into a proactive, trend-driven product engine.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of product development expertise and customer-facing experience, with the ability to confidently lead retailer conversations, identify whitespace opportunities, and take products from concept to shelf.

This is a highly visible role requiring someone who can “hit the ground running” and immediately contribute to both internal execution and external customer engagement.


Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Product Development

  • Own the full product lifecycle from ideation through retail launch
  • Identify market trends and whitespace opportunities to drive innovation
  • Translate insights into compelling product concepts aligned with retailer needs
  • Partner with design teams on print, pattern, functionality, and aesthetic direction
  • Lead development of product specs and execution plans for go-to-market

Retail & Customer Engagement

  • Act as a primary point of contact for key retail customers and merchants
  • Lead and participate in customer meetings, presenting product concepts and strategies
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and product decks
  • Communicate effectively using retail and merchant-focused language
  • Build credibility and relationships with customers (be a “go-to” contact)

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with design, sales, licensing, and operations teams
  • Drive alignment across teams to execute product vision
  • Lead meetings with confidence and clarity, both internally and externally
  • Support licensing initiatives, including coordination with legal and artwork management

Strategic Product Leadership

  • Shift the organization from reactive to proactive product development
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategy
  • Advocate for new product opportunities with clear business cases
  • Bring a big-picture mindset while ensuring strong execution

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • ~5+ years in product management or product development
  • Experience working with mass retailers and merchants
  • Proven ability to take products from concept to shelf
  • Strong experience presenting to customers and leading product decks/pitches
  • Background in consumer products, such as:
    • Stationery / office supplies
    • Novelty / gifting / party products
    • Home organization or storage
  • Experience managing multiple projects and customers simultaneously

Preferred Background

  • Experience with private label and/or branded product development
  • Exposure to licensing businesses
  • Familiarity with major retailers (e.g., Five Below, Walmart, etc.)
  • Experience contributing to buying strategy or assortment planning
