About the Opportunity

Alpine Solutions Group is partnered with an innovative data and AI consultancy dedicated to building technology solutions that make a positive global impact — from improving healthcare and infrastructure to promoting sustainability and financial inclusion.

We’re seeking a SQL Server Data Engineer to play a foundational role on a key client engagement, focusing on assessing, designing, building, and optimizing SQL Server–based data environments. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring data integrity, scalability, and real-time readiness to support analytics and AI-driven decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on SQL development, enjoys optimizing legacy systems, and takes pride in improving data quality and performance at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust SQL Server–based data solutions.
  • Assess existing legacy systems to understand data flows and identify opportunities for modernization.
  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient ETL pipelines and data integration processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other SQL Server–native tools.
  • Build and optimize relational data models, stored procedures, views, and indexes to support reporting and application performance.
  • Create and maintain automated data delivery jobs for ingestion and exports across sources such as flat files, APIs (Salesforce, Electronic Medical Systems, Mulesoft), and operational databases.
  • Implement testing and validation frameworks to ensure high data quality and integrity.
  • Apply and enforce best practices for data governance, security, and access control.
  • Partner with BI teams to ensure SQL structures support tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot performance issues, and maintain clear documentation of data architecture and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience in SQL Server development and administration, including T-SQL, SSIS, and SQL Server Agent.
  • Proven track record building scalable, maintainable ETL pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of relational data modeling, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Experience integrating structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources.
  • Familiarity with data security, governance, and compliance best practices.
  • Comfortable working in client-facing, collaborative environments.
  • Bonus experience with Azure Data Services, DevOps, Tableau, Power BI, or RPA tools (e.g., Automate).
